Ryan Heffernan always seems to capture the most refreshingly real side of his subjects and settings, and his recent work with Outside Magazine is certainly no exception!

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.”  Some people truly take this Helen Keller quote as their personal mantra, living more adventurous lives than many of us ever dream.  One such adventurer is Erden Eruc.  Originally from Turkey and now based in Seattle, Washington, Eruc set out in 2007 to attempt a human powered circumnavigation of the earth including tagging six of the Seven Summits on the way!

Outside Magazine recently sat down with Eruc for Around the World in 1,026 Days, chronicling the final leg of his journey as well as the lessons he’s learned throughout.  KKR’s very own adventurer, Ryan Heffernan, profiled this modern-day hero through thoughtful, revealing images of Eruc and the landscapes that he called home during his incredible feat.  We’re so excited that Ryan collaborated with Outside Magazine on this brilliant piece—take a look at pg. 62 in their February issue for more of Ryan’s shots!
