New Year, New You!

January is the month of New Years resolutions, realistic goals, getting back on track with your health, and self care in the winter months. So many of us watch the clock strike midnight and vow to go into the new year with a healthier lifestyle, but by the dreaded January 3rd, we’re already loosing track of our goals. 2017 is a new year for a new you, so here are some tips for keeping up with those new years promises!

1.Stay positive!

Change is good! Remember that what you are doing is going to be beneficial for you in the future. Celebrate achievements, no matter how small. Give yourself some words of encouragement and allow yourself to expand and grow. A lifestyle change can be difficult and you deserve a high-five each step of the way.

2. Make a Plan and Plan Ahead

Make a plan for success! Try setting a daily, weekly or monthly goal. Write it down and remind yourself why it is important to you. Start small and move up from there. Celebrate your victories and don’t fret about your failures. If you didn’t make your goal this time, plan on it for next time and keep moving forward. Be accountable to yourself.

3) Be Ambitious, But Not Too Ambitious…

Make sure your goals are realistic! Your resolution shouldn’t be too hard or too easy, let it fall right in that happy medium. Pick one New Years Resolution and go for it.

4) Pick a Mantra

Pick a mantra for 2017 and put it everywhere! Write it down, make it your password, make it your screensaver, print it out and put it on your fridge… make your mantra a part of your everyday life. Your mantra is your goal and the tone you want to set for the year. This year, KKR is focused on courage and mindfulness and we are looking forward to implementing these words into our 2017!

5) Practice Self Love

Perhaps most importantly, remember to practice self love. Keep in mind that a New Years Resolution isn’t about becoming perfect, but becoming a you that is a little better than years past. Resolutions are simply a tool to help us grow; so no matter how you’re doing on your goal, make sure to give yourself a compliment, treat yourself every once in a while, and be kind to yourself, you deserve it!
